Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Security Disability Case Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be hard working and detail oriented. This job requires a steep learning curve and multitasking.
Responsibilities:
- Answer the phone to provide intake, information or referral.
- Retrieve, scan and attach mail.
- Maintain client files within case management software program.
- Complete initial applications, appeals, Adult Function Reports and Work History Reports
- Support the Disability Representatives by reviewing medical records, requesting medical records, filing, obtaining school records, obtaining updates from clients and collecting fees from SSA.
- Communicate effectively with clients, the Social Security Field Office and Disability Determination Services.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or paralegal preferred. We are willing to train the right individual.
- Previous Social Security Disability or related field required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a strong adherence to protection of personal information
- Knowledge of community resources and support services
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Employer offers a flexible schedule but it is an in person job.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.52 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week
